This is the reason why I am really not sure about spending the money on a Mesa. I always wanted one but hearing stories about a hair's width turn of a small dial being the difference between that Mesa sound you want or something average is really not so appealing after spending so much. I heard stories about professional bands spending days dialing in to find that tone but when there, it's the best thing ever for them. I would be afraid of never finding that sweet spot at all given the almost watchmaker delicateness of getting there. The big pro to Mesa though is that they realized many amp manufacturers were designing perfect rigs but when it came to the assembly line that perfection went to waste with average tube selection and bias settings not optimized. So with Mesa you get a fixed bias and their selection of tubes so that you can't go wrong there. That's a big deal as it is amazing how many people who buy amps play them for years not sounding as they wanted and then finding out the bias was wrong all along. Plenty of people not liking the amp they bought and sending it back not knowing it wasn't biased properly but they went with another amp instead. So Mesa got that right and it paid off by putting the brand up there with the best of them. The more I think about people getting into the electric guitar for the first time the more I realize how much money can just go to the wind instead of spending it on something useful like coke, hookers, and booze.

The Strat is my biggest challenge in trying to get a good working tone that I like . I am already considering getting rid of the Lace Sensors that were installed this past May . I wish I could dig up /unearth my old Fender Lace Sensors which I think are better . I don't really see myself doing a big dig . Now a floating bridge on a Strat really floats my boat big time . The simplicity is the beauty and the dive bombs are awesome ,this Strat stays in tune which is quite a surprise to me , now if I could just get the tone that I want . It's funny to me because after I get frustrated enough the Strat goes back on her stand and I juts grab a Les Paul and it's instant gratification , which then makes me forget the Strat until next time .

The Telecaster is so rock and roll and so many other styles and genres and the Telecaster just plain covers so much ground and is so versatile . Oh before I forget the beauty of the Telecaster is the simplicity of the design and the single coil pickups and the beauty is the Tone in how it Shines on you like a Crazy Diamond (sorry Roger, Dave , Rick, and Nick )

I don't het the hype around Klon Centaur copies/clones/sound-a-likes.
Can't say anything about the original besides being too costly (but that is most likely an entire new thread).
But the Clones I tried didn’t stir up anything in me. That said I will probably give it one last try.

they do sound nice but there are way to many clones out there to worry with the way over priced original.
if thats the tone you are after i guess. a fine example of supply and demand plus intergoogle hype.
but all-in-all, the pedal is way over rated in my book.

It knocked a Boss RC 10 off the board. Boss probably a better pedal from many aspects, but usability and ease of the Trio made it a no-brainer.

The plexi amp? > Hear me out before bashing.

The tone -sound -loudness-the appearance I really like. Awesome !

But the whole lack of low volume thing? Where it needs to be cranked to get the tone. Even with attenuator...its still too loud. Loud, and insanely loud. wtf?
Couldnt they have made this amp with the same sound, only with a controllable volume knob. for the home/bedroom guys?
    Edit:
Unless Im missing something in setting it up ,and finding the desired tone?
