i get it. i been using my DSL 40cr now regularly for gigs. last week i used my old 74 superlead into a 2x12 Avatar cab and it was magic! totally blows the dsl away in every way. i will still use the dsl as it does the job and is convenient.

Intonation is a real PITA on a Floyd, but changing strings and tuning isn’t difficult at all once you’ve done it enough times.

...and with a little searching I see that Ibanez makes one for the original Edge as well. Gotta love how they cost more than double.

... you'll get around to loving ABBA eventually... you might be into blues jazz, metal whatever... if you're into music, sooner or later you'll get it and start to see the brilliance in the songwriting and arrangement and you'll start to love it... you might never admit it but it'll happen....
    ... yes..
    .... yes it will...

    yeah, but...

re: ABBA, I sort of liked them as a kid. The older I get, the less I like them...

re: Peter Green/Fleetwood Mac, see above for ABBA...

That said, they're alright, but, just not my cup o' tea. I guess they were from the AM radio era of my life, before FM, which goes a long time back. When I hear much of that stuff, I keep thinking that AM radio called & wants their music back... :)...

Lots of artists I don’t get - different tastes.

As far as gear - I just don’t get Vox amps.

Priest’s version of Green Manalishi is about as close as I’ll go. Well not completely true, I like Oh Well.

Been skimming through this thread, and I see the ProCo Rat being mentioned. I'm kind of in agreement about "not getting the hype" on this one. Every once in a while, I'll see a video where the Rat is being used to great effect, and it makes me want to re-think my position. I'll then go demo one, and think "Nope, I was right the first time, I don't need one".

The same thing applies to the Boss DS-1, but in the case of the DS-1, I actually had one on loan for a while and I never bonded with it. Even still, I'll see a video where it sounds great, and I'll start thinking that I didn't spend enough time with it.

I used to not get Tube Screamers either. I bought a used TS5, and was instantly underwhelmed with it. I ended up not liking it very much. Flash forward several years, and I saw a video with Pete Thorn showing how he dials in a TS pedal. I then tried his method, and played around some more.

At this point, the TS is one of my favorite pedals, and I have a TS9 to go with my TS5. I have fallen in love with the TS, and it's second only to the Wampler Tumnus Deluxe, IMO. Desert island worthy. :jam:

I've owned a few Mesa Boogies.. God damn I cant get the tone I need. Really my fault though for buying the wrong gear but they just cant get a great crunch tone. Some lovely sounds but I thought they might be able to pull it off.
Also not a fan of strats.. jack of all trades, master of none...again it's me...some players like Hendrix make them sing, but not my thing.
