Speaking of the Pete Thorn's video - I switched to nickel strings 9-40 (as he mentioned in the video) and wow. It sounded closer. I'm cheating a little...I'm using a Suhr SL68 on variac mode which is the brown sound according to John Suhr...and Pete. The effects add to the tone but the basic brown sound is Plexi style amp pushed hard - with an ash body guitar, 9-40 nickel strings, and PAF pickup. Add a one repeat delay and plate reverb and your in the ballpark.

The hardest part was learning how to play like Eddie. I don't try to copy him as I will never get his feel but I would like to play those songs and give them justice.

I later got the H9 pedal and the micro pitch patch was spot on 1990s EVH. They make the micro pitch pedal now which is the same algorithm as the H9. You can get close to (Still Chorusing) with his chorus pedal.

Don’t forget Rockstah Mod 5 Mark Abrahamian(RIP) I have the last modded amp Mark modded before he passed away it’s a Rockitt Retro 1968 plexi clone that I sent to Mark to do his magic on this amp.
