I’m a big fan of the ‘nope’ , ‘nada’ , and ‘no’ Fuzzes

Saw it the day it came out. Good episode, whether you use fuzz pedals or not. I like the technical breakdown, and the bit of history.

    Informative for sure.

I've still never found a fuzz I can get along with.

its all about the amp its paired with. there is no good fuzz w/o talking about
what amp its being paired with. might sound good with a 2203 but sound like crap
with the next 50 amps you try it with. its all about the amp.

Been using the same amp for a very long time. A Rivera Jake Studio combo. I sold my Boogie Fillmore50 rather than get rid of the Jake.

But I digress - I personally can't get along with any fuzz in any amp. It always ends up sounding like a giant fart to my ears. I like the way other people use them though...

I met a guy at work that builds fuzz pedals. He’s going to let me try one. I have them on my HX Stomp and have not found a way to use one yet.

I've only owned one Fuzz, which was a Wampler. I tried it through a Super Lead, a C5, and a Blues Junior ... didn't sound the way I had hoped through any of the amps. I did some research at the time, and found that it's likely that there's another one that would have suited me better, but I can't even remember which one it is at this point. Whichever one it is, it's one more akin to what Hendrix would have used to roll off his volume, and still get an incredible clean tone. As I had learned, it turns out that a lot of his clean tone was derived through his fuzz, but w/the guitar volume rolled off (always wondered why I couldn't manage to capture his clean tone ... now I know why!) I love that sound. I think it was one of the Fuzz Face models, but I really can't remember.

Now I that I've (finally) realized that my SD-1 will even tighten up fuzz set after the SD-1, maybe I will start to dive in to experimentation.

First one up that's always been in top of my list is the DOD/Digitech Carocosa.

Good stuff, dude. I signed up for 5 minutes, and wound up watching the whole show. He pretty much answered any question I could have possibly had from a basic understanding pov. I loved hearing the differences along with the descriptions. I definitely preferred his version of the FF in the beginning. Sounded the most musical with full fuzz, and I like how it cleans up. The others were cool, but not my thing.

No, I didn't watch when I first posted. That length of a video is like sitting down for an entire sitcom. Unless I have a huge interest, I'm probably not going to watch. This was different, as it hooked me in past the first 5 minutes. It's legit informative.
