Whoever buys that might need to get a new OT!
at least there's nothing plugged into the front (a guitar) when it's in standby mode.
The person did then leave it turned on when they unscrewed the back panel!
I don’t reckon it’ll go for much, the ot looks to be a EV, so a partridge would sound good in their!
I would still have had speakers hooked-up just out of habit, and paranoia. It would have been funny if he turned it out of standby mode and took a photo of smoke coming out of the back.
you see loads of that on eBay ‘I’ve turned it on to make sure it works’
it’s be interesting to know what the odds are on that frying the OT. a bass player I was once recording turned on a 200w Hiwatt for about 3 minutes that wasn’t plugged in, I got lucky with that in that it Still works fine!
Not that a 200w slave amp is all that practical....
I've heard some people say it's OK for an amp to not have a speaker load if it's in standby mode, but I've heard that it's still not good, and that it depends on "where" in the circuit the voltage it cut-off. So to be safe I always have speakers hooked-up so matter what.
Ill be they pack it really good once they box it up too.
The seller is not A guitar player so has no speaker cab. Has no way To operate it . Might be a good deal
