What's your preferred thumptactic?
I just turn my sv20h up into a closed back 2x12 with V30 and a greenback. with my lp and no pedal it thumps good. i'm plugged in high sensitivity with high treble on 7.5 and normal on 4
Move them aside and plug in my 100w. Or better yet, sit the Studio amps on top of a 100w, and pretend the sound is coming from the 20w.What's your preferred thumptactic?
Not a studio, but here's my 100w Haze15 w/ MXR 10 band in the loop.
It thumps.

I get as much useable bottom with my Lynch module. No pedals.
To be serious? No 20 watter has thump. To my ears. Reamped? Yep.
Yes, I also have a PS2, and you can get enough thump to rattle your house to bits.

The 20 watters have no less relative low end compared to a 100 watt head. Marshalls aren’t made for chug chug low tuned music to begin with. Just get an EQ pedal and you should be fine.
Nothing worse than low volume thump
And a bandaid EQ pedal...
I hate chug'n but I do love a big iron thump!,
Between my Thor and SC? Daem. Like a hand job to oral opera.![]()
I don't own either (yet), but if I wanted more bottom end thump I'd install some JJ E34L power tubes. Makes any Marshall sound bigger.
Yeah there’s a big difference between the punch in the nuts from a 100 watter through a 4x12 and the chunky chuggy low end of a modern amp.
