Hello to all and thank you for checking in.

I have made a couple changes to my Pandora circuit that really accents the growl without loosing articulation.

This is built on a post 1984 JCM 800 Series 1987 Model. I am not a fan of these PCB’s so when modding to high gain on this platform much of the work is true point to point circuitry in order to avoid a coplanar layout which well may and often does result in unwanted capacitance causing unwanted mid frequencies IMO.
(Reference - Ken Fischer/Trainwreck Amplification RIP).

In fact I am a proponent of Point to Point as much as possible when modifying in order to customize & stabilize lead dress.

Having ones own entire board laid out populated to Spec such as our friend Monomyth is ideal when perfecting a high gain circuit, (Killer work Shea).

There will always be those that will insist on a close mic or a dry signal, or the opposite. So this is what it is. It is not manipulated & is through an actual 4X12 V30 cab.

    Best to all, David

Wow, I had to watch the clip 3 times in a row because that is some amazing Marshall growl and grind.

I have to say this has to be your best sounding circuit imho. I love that detail and clarity in the chords, the way the single notes jump out and sing and those piercing harmonics.

I am really impressed with what you've accomplished, keep it up David!

Dude I love your mods and your playing.

I gotta ask, how are the ears doing? I can feel a lot of volume there in how the strings react with the amp.

I’ve got tinnitus and I definitely know it when I jam loud. I’m one of the lucky ones, it doesn’t make me insane it’s just always there.

Sometimes I wonder if it affects my perception of tone but I still can tell the difference between bad, mediocre, good and in your case exceptional.

Thank you for responding snd your concern. I do have tinnitus. I’ve been playing 49 years since age 9. I’ve also serve 24 years in a combat unit been a combat and earned valor. Addition I was like oh my alarms instructor. So I protected my ears at every opportunity.

They still serve me well as I listen through the tinnitus.

Thank you again for the great words and your concern.

Killleeerrr tone. NewReligion has had a habit of posting amazing tone videos over the last 10 years (since I've signed up). This video is no exception.

So was this a mod you did yourself, or did you have someone else do it? Either way, amazing

I'll take the original Pandora and this new high performance one. Still both remain my fav's.

I hear ear candy Marshall that you won't get off the shelf. Evar.

And not IR polished? We're hearing it through a 412 cab? Phone?

    I'll take 2. One to play out...one to pet.:agreed:

    Hello my friend solarburnDSL50

As always thank you. And yes a special thank you for recognizing it is a real recording over a real Marshall 1960AV cabinet from 1996/97.

These UK Vintage 30’s are well broken in and smoother than my other cabs.

I truly appreciate the very kind words.

    David
