I am brand new here. Just picked up a nice old '79 2204. It has had some type of seemingly simple gain mod done and the OT replaced. Sounds awesome but for curiosity sake wondering if anyone can give me an idea of the mod, the modder (signature/initials on the board) and what the OT is (labels removed - only info is what's in the pic). I have my suspicions on the OT but am clueless as to mod/modder.

Any thoughts much appreciated - thanks!

Where is the mod? The resistor on the red wire?

The 10k cathode resistor on 2nd stage has been replaced with2k7 carbon comp.
other than the output jacks replaced and the treble peaker between stages is now a modern silver mica I don’t see much else other than the OT.

So they removed the cold clipper. That's odd

The cold clipper is the 10k resistor. Its responsible for the clipping distortion in the high input channel
