Have you ever blown a Celestion G12T-75w speaker?

Amp was RUMBLIN' those speakers! As we know, the dispersement of sound outdoors on a BIG stage gets weird. It's my old JCM 800 1960 cab. I'm chalking it up to the years of abuse before the contribution of Rectifier.

I think the years of getting pummeled with JCMs was a big factor before the Rectifier. Also, just one speaker.

it might take a long time but speakers are a wear item, just like anything with moving parts. That being said the only speakers I ever blew were in an ADA cab being pushed hard by a Mesa Single rec. Im not sure what the rating was on them but they were repaced by a pair of t75's and a pair of V30's I picked up used and never had a problem again.

Just remember, amp power ratings are based on clean, undistorted power stage output. But a cranked 100 watt Marshall 1959 Superlead is factory specified to put out 170 watts at 10 percent distortion. (About half that for a 50 watter.)

Once distortion is in the picture, the energy level increases rapidly.

I've heard that a particularly healthy plexi can deliver up to 220 watts equivalent power.

This is why some people don't recommend that a 4x12 full of 25 watt Greenbacks should be run for a long time with a cranked Superlead. It's recommended that if you're going to do that, you use two cabinets.

I had the cone lock up on one in a 2x12 Avatar. Amp was a Joyo Zombie 20w hybrid.

Yes but it wasn't the amp. It was the pressure wave from the pyro about 2 feet behind it. Tore both speaker cones out. Luckily Celestion didn't charge much to re-cone them
