Really wanting to drop the cash for one of these. I have seen the reviews and they sound great. Does anyone on here own this model? Is it as good as reviews say?

That one?

I have a few other models from Harley Benton they've all been worth the money (SC Custom and Jr among them). Perfectly playable, well built and the roswell humbuckers they used were shit. (Haven't tried the newer tesla branded pickups). They SC Custom gets gigged more than anything else I have.

If you're looking for a decent to awesome cheap SG, it's probably a good buy.

(They have it in shell pink for under €200 😃 )

I have a HB DC Jr and it is a great guitar! I own a couple HB's and would not hesitate to get another. In fact, a 3rd one is on my watch list. Do it, you won't regret it!

I mentioned shit pickups without context. It's really only been the roswell humbuckers that I didn't like.

The p90 in my SC-jr and the split coil in my pb20 are both perfectly usable right out of the box.

The single coil in the HB lap steel is a bit noisy under gain, but also not terrible.

See I'm the opposite. I really like the Roswell P90 in my DC. It's a great sounding pickup. I actually had plans to swap it out with a Gibson dogear P90, but after I got the guitar I decided to leave it stock because I liked the pickup so much. It definitely has a little bit different character than other P90's, but that snappiness to the tone is actually what I like about it. It makes it stand out.

My p90 only really came out because I bought the guitar for a purpose - to be a backup for one of my customs that has a bareknuckle p90. They don't sound exactly the same, but after a pickup swap it's close enough for live use.

If it hadn't been for that, I probably wouldn't have pulled the stock p90. There really wasn't anything wrong with it.
