Please sanitize before you post in this thread.

Last year, I was using some of that crap and didn't rub it in enough- must have been a small bit left on the palm of my hand and I grabbed my new Les Paul at the base of the neck where it meets the body. Something in the sanitizer (alcohol I guess) had an interaction with the nitro and it sort of got rough and grimey feeling. I don't mind scratches, dents, dings in fact I welcome them, but that sanitizer "scar" pisses me off. I don't think it can be buffed out without becoming even more obvious.

That sucks! Continual use of sanitizer all of a sudden doesnt seem like a good idea.

All this hand washing was too much for me. I had my hands removed. I've already saved over $8.00 on hand sanitizing products.

Downside....my nose itches. Gawd does it itch. Can anybody help me out?

Bleak, you know, i was just in my local and asked about that, they have a sanitizer bottle by the door and i noticed it was basically pure alcohol so i told them that lacquer don't like alcohol, wonder if they got something else..

    That sucks. :(

I make it a point to always wash my hands with soap and water before playing, just in case anything is on my hands. Of course, I also have OCD issues.

I wondered about that too. The music stores around here have you sanitize your hands before you go in. Probably not the best thing for the guitars.

"All of a sudden"? It took me the whole of one lunch to realize it sucked. I used some, went for some fish. Imagine a piece of fried fish, but mixed with hand sanitizer. My dogs kept their distance due to my smell. The only good side was that I refrained from smoking until I could put hands near my face without saying hello to that piece of fish again. Never used the stuff again, brr.

I love it. I think I'm now able to absorb alcohol through my skin.

I thought this was sorted out. Aren't we all supposed to be drinking disinfectants? I am come on. If it's good enough for the President of the United States then it's good enough for me... and Ozzy.

Methanol vs ethanol or so they tell me. Methanol is the repellent that keeps my dogs away, but ethanol (booze) attracts. Maybe it just comes to me naturally...

I know this sounds stupid but...I always get such nasty taste in my mouth from using hand sanitizers...
...(waiting for someone to tell me I'm using it the wrong way...)
