I play the main guitar parts on this classic set to a 'music video'. If you have time to watch, hope you enjoy !
Sorry, but I can't. I almost clicked, but couldn't. There are three singers, and I use that word very loosely here, that I cannot listen to: Axl Rose Brian Johnson David Lee Roth Do you have anything else?
next, I want to hear a reggae-inspired version of the song with female background singers and a percussion section
Nice try but the timing is all over the place on the intro. There's not much feeling to the notes you're playing. Surely that's the most difficult part of doing covers. B+ for effort
Thanks StingRay85, I don't hear timing issues on the intro, probably that's why there are timing issues
Yeah. Its why Slash sounds like Slash. Why a David Gilmour solo can't be covered. If you miss the timing, it just doesn't sound right
slight imperfections are much better. listen to John Bonham, or old James Brown records, or Wailers records from the 70's, or Steve Adler. If you put them into a computer, they aren't perfect. Modern contemporary music IS perfect because they are created on computers, not humans. It's actually a great skill to fall out of time for the groove, then meet back up with it. Try this for ten hours
So... the other parts were performed by someone you met on bandmix, or is that a backing track someone sang over, then you added the guitar? Which IRs did you use?
Sounds great! That was one of the first songs I worked on when I started playing electric guitar! Took a hole year for me to learn it and now I don’t play it much and have forgotten some parts! I may have to go brush it up now!!
