We might have got it, but we sure as hell didn't ask for it. So suck shit right back atcha! :nutkick:

As for the OP..Yeah, I would be P.O.ed about that too! And would send it back, along with more than a couple of choice words about their business practices.

I for one do my very best to avoid buying products made in countries that make them just because some American brand decided to cut costs and screw his worker force.

That means, no Chinese product if there's any alternative. I buy American...or British.

    Are you new to this?

ALL guitar center products are B-stock floor models by any other retailer's classification.

Funny thing is the rest of the world basically wants it too. Like Marshall ain't doing the same as Wally World, buy stuff from manufacturers or make it, send to distribution centers, send to retailers, and you can go buy it. Same shit different bucket.

Of course we did! The average American loves big box stores, gluttonous consumption and fast food.
The American Dream- cheap crap from China!

Update: I went into the GC and got to raise some hell. Luckily my sales guy was there and hes been pretty cool with me for awhile now. I told him the situation and he was completely understanding of the situation. He went ahead and called every GC store to see if they had any in stock that were still boxed up. Sadly nothing, and the wait time in a warehouse was looking to be about late January. Honestly I cant really wait that long, and he knew it. Sooo he made an offer for an additional.20% off the head and an additional 20% off the cab. Thought about it and he gave me a number. Would come out to about a little under $1100. When he told me that I also asked about the speaker cable that wasnt included and he said I could pick out whichever I wanted in store and he would comp the price. Didnt sound to bad to me at all. Picked up a pretty damn nice 5 foot speaker cable (about $45). All in all took the deal. Still think I made it out on top for this one, even though both head and cab came out to be "open box" models i managed to get it for a damn good deal. 40% off head and 37% off for the cab + the $45 speaker cable. I can deal with that!

I stopped buying big ticket item from GC long time ago when I purchased a “brand new” Ibanez RG520.... they pulled the floor model and tried to box it up, I said, “No-no. Grab the one that is sitting in your stockroom, the one with untampered tape on the box”...

Hope the guy paid though VISA/PayPal and opened a dispute.

They are in dire straits for sure.....

Always make sure in these situations to keep the packaging and take pictures of it all together and multiple angles.

I would immediately order another, tell them that they can pay for the box and pickup of the damaged equipment.

Glad to hear that GC offered a decent discount to compensate for their sending you not-new stuff.
I always try to get my used gear for no more than 75% of new, and I steer away from completely beat up restoration projects.
That's actually kind of difficult sometimes when you factor in shipping vs. free shipping on new stuff.
Getting 20% off floor demos sounds like a fairly good deal.
Hope that's the end of your problems with your "new" stuff.

I didn't mean to insult the American citizens & probably could have worded it a bit better. We have the same delema here in Aus. Only Kmart, Bunnings Hardware etc. They started years ago by stocking items cheaper than any small outfit could & once they killed of most of the competition prices went up & quality went to shit. Luckily here though music stores are still independent.

If it's made well, I don't care if it's made on the moon.

I don't like to see anyone screwed least of all myself.

Be careful of the other guy.

I told L and M I wanted a new LPC from the factory, not the one hanging on their wall.
When I got there the box was already open and I believe it was shipped from another store.
I was too anxious to get it and naive so I never thought too much about it.
I spent the next 3 years hunting down a tech who could fix the nut problems (eventually found the right guy and he replaced it with a new handcut bone one, so it's all good).
