I missed the first half hour, did I miss the hard rock/metal category? I've got my fingers crossed for Dream Theater.
I dunno who won anything, but McCartney was great! Especially with all that 'additional talent' on stage at the end!
That album is mammoth! Its been my favorite loud car CD since I got it last year. Petrucci makes me melt with his melodic lines.
I recorded it.. Haven't watched it yet. I don't mind the commercials as much as I do the rappers. I won't watch or listen to them. They're a sickening lot of shit in the burrows of the underground sewer system flowing right in to Hollywood. Hollywood Blows............. carrots
I thought you were gonna quit swearing? Also - The ending number was pretty good.... if you haven't seen it yet it is worth waiting for.
Just make sure to skip that Nicki Minaj...sore for eyes and ears! A Lady Ga Ga wanna be with rap/hiphop
I grew up in an era where record sales where your reward, not a Hollywood version. I don't watch award ceremonies of any kind. Cheers, Barrie.
What was the category that Dreamtheater were in? This album is so good, but what category can you put such a diverse CD in? Anyone who hasnt heard it yet, here's why Petrucci is the best shredder on the planet right now imho. Its a 12 minute song. If you want to go diectly to guitar solo play from 5:55 to 8:55: -yes around 3 minutes long is this solo. I think all you guys were the only ones watching it, the ratings sucked as always. I stopped watching all these ass kissing, self congratulatory, hob-nob rigged events years ago. Anything to so with Hollywood I wouldn't give the time of day to. Had MTV never came about to give us rap and hip hop we would still have some rock n roll bands.
The crazy thing about Petrucci is that he was already an incredible guitarist in high school. I've seen/heard him play La Villa Strangiato when he was like 16.
The only reason I watched it is because I'm friends with 2 of the guys in DT. I didn't give a shit about anyone else.
I watched with the family. I kind of like some of it but like Nuke mentioned, I too do not get into the flavor of the month stuff. I did not know the Foo Foo Fighters were a Hard Rock/Metal act. They should have thrown Lou Reed and Jethro Tull in the mix again too. Nothing against the other artist, they are just not hard or metal. By the way, I really dig Dream Theater. The Dramatic Turn OF Events is good but I belive my favorite is Systematic Chaos. There should be "The Hard, Heavy and Metal Awards". Everything else practically gets their own show and then some. It kind of sucks.
