What's with the Steeling?
Shop opened in 62
Anytime...I'm here all week!
yea knew it was around 61 62 wasnt sure which one,, sold plenty guitars initially not a lotta amps as the first shop was very small
when the shop moved across the road along from the cafe was when i thought the Marshall amps started appearing built by the guys that used to do the electrical repairs on our gear basically im sure someone here can confirm that or not and initially were small sized gear and cabinets
I met him back in the early 90's. he was at my local guitar shop for a meet and greet. I had a couple of the backs of my super lead amps signed. it was lighter and easier than carrying the entire amp. and also got a signed marshall brochure. i wish i had brought a camera to capture the moment as proof of authenticity of the signing of the amp backs. oh well.
Ian you dont know the true history so take a good read of this web site and that will tell you actually what did happen www.dudleycraven.com
I met him at the NAMM show. I believe it was 1994. Was friendly and signed a Marshall catalog.
Back in the days, when the Musikmesse Frankfurt was still a thing (90s and 2000s), I met him there twice at the Marshall booth. I remember them having a large booth with a sound-proof room where a live band was demoing Marshall amps in front of up to 50 people or so. The drummer was Nicko McBrain from Iron Maiden.
Those were the days...
I met him when he was starting out...he is a crazy dude! And he has a great sense of humor, and he's a real Patriot.
I were there as well, es war 1993, i still have it. hanging in my Dudelzimmer ;-)
Was it 1993 ? Where Geoff Whithorn from Roger Chapman played guitar in the Marshall Soundchamber ? Were there, too.
Thank you Ken for sharing that link! I'd love to read more. So cool to separate the truth from the myths.
I have met Jim at disma music show Italy at Rimini ...in 2001, he signed poster with dedication...I keep it like a relic.
I have the black and white Hendrix poster. He signed it to me.
I saw him at the Marshall Booth in 93.FFM Stood waiting for an autograph, the blonde lady right to him spelled the names . I said Thank you very much indeed, and he looked me straight in the eyes!
Didn't participate in the poll but met him at least 4 or 5 times at Frankfurt Messe.. Got 4 autographs.
