The last time I engaged in sports antics, I was nearly flogged :ugh: I'm Seahawks... and it was Broncos fans... basically, I almost died. :ugh: no more for me. Nothing "friendly" about it anymore... give me my guitar.

Sports are competitive. Competition is evil because in the end it creates one bloated ego and many destroyed self-esteems.
Wanna know why "we all can't just get along"? Sports. Because sports is evil.

Competition is healthy.
Separates the leaders from the followers.
Gives the losers something to strive for.

if you feel competition is discriminatory or evil , just take your 'participation' trophy and stay home.
Leave the real work for the winners.

Haha! I understand what you're saying, and I think it's important to differentiate between being weak and apathetic, and being a leader. Winners do not make good leaders, they make good football players and egomaniacs. I don't think life should be about winning and serving the capitalism machine, it should be about leading and accomplishing goals for everyone using the talents you were born with. Make no mistake, I'm not a politically correct liberal. But I definitely think Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer was a victim of the kind of treatment that should never even exist.

Dude, Rudolph persevered to the point of not only being the most popular reindeer, but also having one of the most popular holiday songs named after him. He's a shining example of how competition can bring out the best in you.

... but Santa only cared about him because of his nose. And the other reindeer only liked him because he was liked by Santa, so the trend to like Rudolph was set. If his nose ever blinks out, heaven forbid, how likely is it that Santa and the other reindeer will have any use for him anymore? I foresee Rudolph becoming an alcoholic and possibly a drug addict one day. Everyone will return to making fun of him... :ugh:

... but yeah, there's a song about him. "Black Velvet" by Alannah Myles is about Elvis, but it doesn't change the man's history or how he died.

And I don't know why I care about a reindeer...

Of course Santa liked him … he's running a business, and when looking to assemble the best team, he was able to identify an employee with skills that nobody else had, and said employee was able to further that into a position of leadership … capitalism at it's finest!
