Well it might be an upgrade .
I have to wait and see but I ordered a set of aluminum knobs , pickup rings and switch thingy. I don’t care for the stock knobs. They look good but are sort of to smooth or not knurled.
I wish there was a way to change the tuners to something modern but I don’t want to ruin the look.

What type of tuners? There are replacements for everything these days that can be a direct swap.

Look forward to seeing your LP after getting the new duds.

Not sure on tuners , I just don’t care fore the stock ones. But they would have to fit same screw holes cause no drilling.
    Black or silver.

I like Black and Gold theme but gold tends to wear quicker and look bad.

they say to wipe it down after ever use helps prolong the fade or to clearcoat it lightly.
that both will help SLOW down the fade. i use to have a goldplating machine ys back
wish i still had it. made a ton of money with it too. sink fixtures. drum kits. floydrose.
pool ladders. car emblems. tons of things.

My Studio got a Historic blank Truss Rod Cover, a Custom style Pick Guard, and a matching Switch Cover. I like the stock Speed Knobs.

Yeah, I like the gold trim (with certain colors) but wears much easier than the chrome/nickel.

I don’t think it wears better , I think it wears faster. I do like the look especially on black guitars.

    I agree, it wears faster.

When I said "easier" I meant it wears off easier. I guess I coulda worded it better, I can see the confusion, lol.

i remember when they made crappy tuners. ya didnt want them on anything you owned.
now they are making fine tuners and often a go-to for a lot of people.

I am not 100% liking the look but they feel better. What I figured out in this process is the volume pot is sticking compared to the other pots.
