So it's bee a long while since I have actually played (or jammed ) with actual humans, 18 years or so with a couple jams in the there. So I jammed with a drummer and bass player tonight. Not gonna lie it was pretty bad, but fun and am going to do it again in a couple weeks. time to practice up and get the vocals in order, man I need some work and shake some serious dust off.
Funny how things change, when I was my last band the question was who is bringing the booze, now the question was "would you like a V-8 energy drink?"
Funny, because my last bad the guys were in their 60's and still threw them down ...above "normal". One was 69, I think. It doesn't always stop. Lol
Gettin in the groove is a great thing, it's the gettin out of the rut that's hard. But it was good and there were moments where it clicked ( or at least I didn't butcher it too badly) , and that made it worth it.
Also at the house where we jammed the dude said " don't worry about bringing an amp I have a killer Marshall you can use" which ended up being a SS fender crap show 1-12 something or other.
That is awesome buddy, I have been trying to find a couple of dudes such as myself to jam with for at least 3 years now, for a once or twice a month or 2 jam , and I keep turning up with zilch . Enjoy it , and always bring your own amp, the enjoyment will multiply!! Cheers Mitch
Eh, just enjoy yourself, knock off some rust. And if you stink up the place, who cares, then you only have 1 way to go; up. Have fun, that's the only thing that counts. Don't "work" at getting better, "have fun" at getting better. Also, I highly recommend video recording yourselves. Again, doesn't matter how shitty you guys sound, or how many times you screw up and have to stop right in the middle of a song, you'll absolutely enjoy going back and watching the videos. Not only the songs you play, but even just the chit-chat between, and all the other stuff too. Trust me, one day you'll look back and say "Man, having these videos is gold." As we get on in years, the opportunity to do the things we used to do years ago become fewer and farther between. Enjoy yourself, have fun, and make sure you MAKE it fun, and make sure everyone else does too. Who cares how good or bad you are. I'd rather sound like shit, than make no sound at all.
Be careful you don't boost the noise which is possible with this pedal. In this scenario, I recommend the following settings: Threshold - fully clockwise Reduction - fully clockwise Release - fully counter-clockwise
