What's the gear that you don't like buying? Like stuff that you have to buy but you don't get any "oh boy oh boy oh boy!" moments when you get it. For me it's: Strings, mic stands, picks, speaker cables (though for some reason if I get a new really long guitar cable I am excited about it.... oddly), power supply components
Nothing I can think of. I don't really suffer from GAS and don't buy much gear so I don't mind at all when it's time to re up on little things like picks and strings.
I get excited just receiving picks and/or strings. Larger purchases just amplify my excitement. I’m weird like that, I guess. I just love to play guitar.
For me, it would probably be picks. Even with straps I pay special attention to details like comfort, material(s), quality, holes for strap buttons, etc. But with picks, it's pretty much automatic/little thought involved.
Cables. Because i already have so many. I just reluctantly bought another a couple weeks ago. Out of my whole stash i didn't own a true Y cable. I had stereo in to Y but not mono. I wanted to try the Y cable method instead of jumping the channels on my SV20H so now i own another cable.
Cables , GC over priced , picked over and crappy . I just bought cables before Xmas . The store sucked !
Buying cables does suck so that's why I make my own, it's at least 50% cheaper maybe more. I use mogami W2524 and nuetrik plugs.
I dislike buying anything from a salesman or a saleswoman. They're there to sell...........anything from a brick to a car. As they're hawking the item, I want to buy my toy and be somewhere else.
