I went to throw out my garbage and there was a banjo case leaning against the container. . A contessa. I hate cuntry music but had to take it home. It's a 5 stringer but the 5th string tuner is missing. I've tried to like country but it's hopeless. The other 10 guitars I have aren't happy with a banjo in the house so my buddy is gonna have a home for it. Even the acoustic is pissy. EDIT: Yes I was the dude that found a toasted flying v in it's case leaning against a dumpster a couple years ago.

I love a banjo, but i don't own one. My friend had been learning to play his and brought it over. I asked how it was tuned and he told me it was open G.

So I picked it up and played some Zepellin on it just sliding a barre up and down, first time I'd touched one. It sounded ok too! Try 'when the levee breaks,' and 'in my time of dying".

More recently, I've scratched my itch for thst kind of sound with a resonator guitar, which is a lot of fun.

Which is better - a banjo or bagpipes? Banjo of course - burns longer so you can destroy more bagpipes.

I was given a banjo neck blank 18 years ago. I gave it to an acoustic building friend and last time I was at his shop it still hung on the wall. Some things are better left undone.

I can admire good / great banjo players but I'm not one of them.
