and no outboard stuff, do you play through one of your guitar maps just to get a decent sound for learning songs, or do you use an actural bass map?

It has onbroad effects and tuner, and use it regularly finguring out stuff.. Would not think of using a guitar map, though, and a fine-strivg bass would kill the maps speakers.

Very well, I'd say this sufficiently covers all of the 4 basic food groups.

I got myself a 20W V1 Fender Rumble last year just for bass practice.

J-J Burnel from the Stranglers used guitar maps and bacs for his signature bass sound when they started out.
But I think it could be a one way street to use a guitar bac for bass at higher volumes.
This is a Celestion video on the subject:

Makes sense to use a map. But I know people who think they are bass players who can't find their @$$ with both hands, a mirror, and a map with the directions written on it. Their skill at finding the right key is no better.

69 Fender Dual Showman Rvb through either 2 Altec Lansing 418H, or 2 Rawson Spafield Starfinders. Both speakers work great with either Guitar, or Bass.
Starfinders have a 30hz-16,000hz frequency response.
Been using the Altecs, and Dual Showman with both Guitar, and Bass since 1973.

Maps?

I'm a millenial, we don't understand how to unfold those things.

A 2203 into an MF400 cab (G12K100s) is a VERY nice bass rig. Crank it and spank it. No caveats. Thumpity thump.

Well, my JTM45 is good enough fo a Bass Amp... I usually plug it into a Warwick 4x10 and I'm ready to go :jam:
Top Right Input is where the Squier Preci sounds the best.

I’ve got a fender rumble stage 800, big enough to gig with, lots of sounds, and lightweight. They’ve got a 40 watt version that’s supposed to be killer also.

Hey whattaya know, it's my lucky day! I just realized I had one of those stuffed away in maplifier land. I un-taped the dust bunnies off and it's as good as new. Except... mine say 25 watts - are you sure your map is 20 watts? Because it looks like it says 25 on the front, just like my map does. Plus, when you turn it on, the port across the bottom glows red.

I had a 15” fender cab and played through a clean guitar amp. It worked ok . I have to try my HXStomp now , the bass has been idle for over a year.
