Pulled the trigger today on a DSL 20HR since I got a pretty good deal on it. Should be here next week. For me it's the perfect practice amp / small bar gig amp. The footswitchable FX loop is the icing on the cake methinks. Feels like they really got this one right. Add an optional OD pedal into the mix and lots of ground is covered.

My Avatar 1x12 with Greenback awaits.

$425. 15% off, which to me is the everyday street price on most gear.

I look forward to hearing what you think of it. I am tempted to get one of the 50watt origin but the new DSLs may fit the bill for me too.

That's where the "fluck it" part comes in. :) I'm in the same boat.

At least you could use a 20 watt head, by the looks of it.

I've been thinking about the 20 watt combo for small venue gigs. Like Jethro, I have so much gear, but other than my Mesa F30, I don't have a usable 1x12 combo. I'm very close to pulling the trigger.

Kutt, where did you order it for that discount?

I don't like to kiss and tell, but what I can say is that there may be a place in Chicago, where you can play music, and you might be able to exchange some of your money for the amp. You smell what I'm steppin' in? :)

I'm [this] close to pulling the trigger on the DSL20HR too. I just used a 15% off coupon for some stuff. I hope GC emails me another one soon, lol.

    Do it to it! haha.

Here's how I usually tackle the hunt for new gear- Search for it on Reverb and look for sellers that accept offers. You can obviously make the offer through Reverb, or you can just contact them directly with an offer. For dealers who don't have a "Make an Offer" option, you can just go to their website, email them directly, and put one on the table. You'd be amazed at what happens if you just ask. Usually you don't even have to haggle unless you get towards the 20% off range, then they start bearing down.

Anybody done some under the hood pix of the 20HR, yet? I am interested in the circle board layout and transformer size.
I am very interested in this amp and like Kutt's offer suggestions.

Congratulations. I wasn't interested in any of that foreign Marshall stuff, but the DSL20h and DSL1h are growing on me. So far, great sounds have come from them. I think I'll follow your lead and take the plunge on the 20w head.

Just checked out the Marshall demo and am very impressed by the Origin 20. If I already did not have four Marshall amps, I would have GAS right now. Congrats to the OP on this fine purchase. I really like the way it sounded even without pedals. When they played the BB II pedal through it, it got my attention big time. I got the pedal, maybe in the future the 20 may be mine as well. I like the feature it has with the boost and such. Let us know how you feel about it when you get it and jam on it some. Once again congrats!

I want to demo both. I want to see how the Origin 50 feels and sounds. I already have plexi. But...if it can feel and sound good? Id do it.

The new DSL's are getting better. Great thing about either is they are affordable at anytime one decides to buy.
