After years and years of knock offs, almost amps, and possibly every drive I came across, I'm a Plexi owner. I gotta say I wasn't really excited at first. It was just..... Ok. That is untill the volume got around "Oh my God". This thing came alive, with a P90 all of a sudden the tone just became..... Everything I always wanted. The terms buttery and creamy, thick and rich... Seem so corny but that's exactly how I heard um. Single note bends just took off, especially north of the 12th fret. It is rather loud. But that place between Holy S&_t and this is unbearable is it, that's the "thing" isn't it. I could have just lived there.... All kidding aside I have to say it is truly a experience, one that I think Kevin Shaw is make even better for me when he does the MV and gives it a once over. I was running it through my supersonic 212 v30s, which is a closed cab and the v30s sound harsh. I've got a mojotone british 212 coming tomorrow with small magnet cream backs. I say small magnet the 60 watt version cream back. Anyone else running those?

So far at a lower volume with just a Bad Bob in front,is getting really good tones. I've got a light speed,a hotwired v3 and of course a Keeley 1962x that I'm fixing to start playing around with and see how they all match up tone wise. Like I said though the Vintage 30s,to my ears, sound harsh. I'm hoping I made the right call with cream backs

    Congrats!

I like the M magnet Creambacks better than V30s with the vintage Marshalls - JTM45, 1959 etc.

Yeah, now the v30s work great in my supersonic. I totally agree when it comes to old school Marshall amps they just don't do it justice

This amp is stock other than rebiesed for the big Kt 66s. A friend of mine has one that has a mod at v2 called tone lynch I think. Anyone familiar with this, or any other mods that just helps to tighten it up. Of course with a tube rectifier I understand they can get a little flubby. But I kinda like the sag

I’ve been running my JTM45 heads through a 2x12 cab with 15 year old V30’s, they don’t sound harsh or flubby, I just turn down the bass and treble.

Oh, HNAD. They aren’t so loud when you play them in a big room with other musicians, only in the living room.

A JTM45 sounds best through G12H greenbacks (originals or broken in Heritages). It helps firm up a loose bottom end and the sensitivity helps with volume. Not harsh at all.

Looking for something I don't remember what.
I'm using a 1936 2 x 12 with two 65w Creambacks as an extension for a 1962 Bluesbreaker RI combo. Sounds really good.
    The amp is basically a JTM45 with Tremolo in a 2 x 12 combo with 25w Greenbacks.

I also find 30s harsh, do not like them. I love Greenbacks and Creambacks, the G12M-65s. I think you will like them a lot!

    HNAD! :applause:

If running Win 10 you can just open your image file in the (default) Photos app, go to the (...) on the RHS of menu bar, click 'Resize' and select 'M' (2 MP), which should be small enough for posting here. Then just save your new image and upload as usual. :D

My cabinet came today, mojotone british 212,cream backs 65 watt. It's also a semi-open back. Big tonal difference between it and the closed back vintage 30 sporting supersonic 212 . To me the mojotone cab is a much smother sound, even at ear bleeding levels. You don't have to fight as hard as with the vintage, to get that sound.
