Just once I'd like to be the guy who delivers life saving medications to FedEx employees.

Dear FedEx delivery guy Biff....sorry to hear about your broken leg. Your medicine is in the sycamore tree in your neighbors back yard

We use UPS - ditched Fedex after they started using contractors [who bid on the routes] to deliver. Needless to say their in field service went in the toilet.

The clowns in brown aren't much better. I had a call from a non customer [her brother in law actually] as she received one of our fluted rifle barrel blank [in it's shipping box] INSIDE her shower curtain rod box. She didn't know what it was - luckily her bro in law told her and called us.

UPS is the only one I haven't had an issue with but I'm not defending them. FedEx took my package from Big Bear, CA to Phoenix. It was a Lowden acoustic guitar in a Hiscox hard case. It was wrapped up with bubble wrap and then duct tape but a LOT of bubble wrap and a LOT of duct tape. The flight from LAX to Phoenix is so short it doesn't even level out and takes about 30 minutes.

When it arrived, the case had a hole in it that looked like the pointy end of a pick axe had punched it. I had bought insurance but FedEx denied my claim. It cost me $350 for a new case to the buyer on top of a pretty good sale price but i had to make it right.

USPS lost a Two Notes Torpedo Studio I sold to a customer in FL. I shipped it via Priority Mail and it just vanished. It had tracking and should have been there in three days but it was gone. I didn't buy $1000 worth of insurance because it had tracking and was going to be there in three days. That one cost me a grand. It has never turned up.

    So, yeah, they all suck.

I just won a UPS case a couple months ago. They (as some know) completely trashed my Limited Edition #180 20 year old mint condition JTM45 Offset Reissue cab. Both top-to-side connections are completely severed. Among many other things.

All I got was the insurance that I took that mainly I put on the head. Go figure.

I love the idea of shipping insurance: "Sir, we are morons. In the case we can't help but prove that to you during your shipping, would you like to take some insurance out on us?"

The two are no different and I don't trust either one. FedEx (at least around here) only does up to a grand on "musical instrument" insurance. So that's: "Sir, we are absolute morons. It is very likely that we will in fact prove this to you so we can only do a grand coverage on your guitar. We almost KNOW we will be paying so we're gonna keep things to a minimum here from the start."

    This is probably TRUE.

I recently saw a YouTube ad from UPS that proclaimed "Apply today! You could receive a job offer IN UNDER 30 MINUTES"

Sounds like they'll hire anybody who isn't a registered sex offender with a documented history of kleptomania

I dropped a package off at UPS recently and they wanted to know what was in it, I said electronics, no they wanted to know EXACTLY what was in it, I never had anyone ask me that, I was put back by it like they were asking so they'd know if it was worth stealing! I dont think its any of their business whats EXACTLY in the box!

It was a speaker, it was annoying I had to go into that detail, and I did cuz if it got damaged in shipping and I told them it was anything else they wouldnt have paid up!

I've ordered a couple of speakers, they feel like boxes full of solid cast iron. Anyway, odd that they would ask you the contents of your shipment, it would feel like an invasion of privacy to me. I'm not sure how I'd deal with it, but the fact that they asked would make me feel very suspicious, enough to take my package elsewhere.
