What are some good boosts/drive pedals for the dsl 100 hr? I have a fulltone fulldrive 3, a dod gunslinger, and some Danelectro Texas trouble.

Yeah, SD-1 works fine. I lean towards my Maxon OD-9, sounds smoother and beefier under high gain, the SD-1 feels somewhat harsh, it's great for riffs but I find it very raw sounding for high notes.

When I had a DSL50 I liked boosting the green crunch channel with a TS9. :yesway:

My favorite with the DSL is the Maxon OD9 (or any TS-9) as well.

Yup, I agree with everyone here, especially @Adrian R with his Maxon OD9 choice. Maxon 0D9s are killer tubescreamers, imo, the early ones from 2000 to about 2003 were exceptional, also imo.

Also I’d add a Spark boost to the list of choices. A couple of years ago, like you, I was looking for a od pedal or a boost pedal, and I ended up returning three of them before I found what I like.

    Best of luck going forward.

Yeah, it's pretty amazing how little gear I need to get the tone I like. Good amp with FX loop, good noise gate, good OD pedal and good EQ pedal in the loop. I have few other pedals and also the Boss MS-3, but tbh I'm only using the MS-3 as loop & channel switcher, that's all it is. I've got some patches with chorus, delay, reverb, but they're just collecting dust, haven't used them in many months. The DSL sounds so good on its own just boosted with the OD-9 and the GE-7 in the loop that I don't really need something else at the other end of the guitar cable :)

Yeah, same here, I've spent years with a basic setup of OD9-DSL-clean boost and delay in the FX loop and being totally happy with it, the rest being utilitarian and/or song-specific (when you do covers, sometimes you need some more grease). Don't really care about using a noise gate though, I take extra care with my wiring so I have no extraneous noise and can do without one (but a little hiss doesn't really bother me and I hate the feel of a noise gate).

    Green/clean and BE OD
Aside from that, I've always got along with the TS9

    That's my cup o tea
