Cutting the tolex corners isn't the hardest part.
Stapling the piping flange onto the side of a front load baffle, and getting everything squeezed into the cab frame SUCKS!

I am stunned the Seventy 80’s out-perform the V30’s. But hey, you have to go with what your ears are telling you. Good for you that you didn’t let the label on the back prejudice what you were hearing from the front.

I ran the C5H through every speaker I have.
10" VTjr & Ten-30 (didn't bother with the MG's)
12" V30, T-75, T-66 & Seventy-80 (with a few different mixes thereof).
With the MXR 10 band through the Bad Cat, I could adjust for speaker differences and get good tones, but straight in and no EQ, the Seventy-80's brightness tended to compensate the best for the amp's darker tone.
And the best part is they were free (ABPF), in boxes, in the closet.
All in, I'm at $260 in parts for the pair + the speakers I yanked from the MX112 cabs.

If anyone is interested, I wanted the new cab logos to match the Marshall script logo on the head.
(anal-retentive details...)
The logo on the head is not a bright white like the logos that I usually get from Tubes and More, it's more of a cream color.
Not sure if thats some kind of age discoloration, or just a different plastic.
T&M just has white and gold on white options.
Found a good color match in a rattle can - Rust-Oleum Canvas White.
I think it at least looks better than the screamin' bright white.
Head is original / cab is new with spray color.
(comparison with white on the Code)

I just bought a cabinet in need of work, I have a PRO Cabinet maker friend that will guide me and has the correct tools, clamps and such.

Going to take slow and easy, ‘ measure twice, cut once”!

Thanks for the necro likes, this thread was from 6 months ago...
But oddly enough, these cabs are on the workbench (dining table) as we speak.
They are getting the G12L-35 speakers I bought in the ugly 212 cab yesterday.
Already did the chassis / head shell swap with the Lead20-5002 and the G215RCD.
Ugly cab is loaded with 70-80's and for sale on Reverb & in the classifieds.
