Back in 1984 or so, I hung out with all of Dokken. I was in a band, but I was also a rock reporter for three different rock magazines. All the guys in Dokken used to hang out at ROCKER'S Night Club. It was one of the biggest rock venues in metro Phoenix. I partied with George many, many times. He was awesome to watch on stage. He was really good at a young age. Oh and DON was a prick. George Lynch, Mick Brown and Jeff Pilson were the most approachable guys in the band. I did a lot of partying with Jeff as well.

It's a shame that personal issues got in the way, or else they could have become a much larger act. Now Don's voice is not very good and I hear he can only sing like two songs in a show before it starts crapping out.

Anyways, you have good taste in music. Rockin' with Dokken!

David, what are your favourite tracks ??

Damn near everyone but here are a couple that I find distinct and melodic of Don and George.

I jammed w/ Don Dokken in 1976, when he was in a band called "Airborne". My drummer at the time (Tom Strickfaden) ended up doing video for "Dokken" in Japan... all verifiable.

Thanks David.. I only have the Under Lock and Key album so far, so i dont know much of their other stuff.. Looking forward to listening to those tracks later on when i get home..

I heard my first Dokken song about 1 month ago, and i love what i hear.. GL has a very melodic shred vibe that i really dig.. I can hear him in your playing too.. Thats a huge compliment BTW..

I dig the intro and title track off 'Tooth and Nail' a lot!

Just got Lucky is another great song. Lynch rules and Don used to have an amazing voice. They were a really versatile duo!

Probably one of Don's best studio cuts on vocals.

Yep. Just got lucky was the one that stood out for me too when I first heard that album.
I met George Lynch briefly after a Clinic he gave in Melbourne last year. He's a very cool guy, honest, and looks like he hasn't aged in 20 years.

lol, look at all that pancake makeup! Don was like 31 or 32 when this video came out. The rest of the band were in their early 20s!

Alot of bs, background and lying between Don and George..... Reality is, neither had the success solo they had when they were together. In all honesty, I haven't enjoyed much of Lynch's playing since the split...

Even then, George was very hit or miss both as a player and a person... Really enjoyed his playing when he was "on"... Just went for it and GOD some of those licks/solo's are incredible.... One of my favorites is Lost Behind the Wall, of coarse Dream Warriors and plenty of others..... LOVED his phrasing

Hi bro. I have not as of yet but I will. Not sure that I would make that information open to the "public". That is to say that there are MANY people that just blow through here and I would not like my information pasted for the world to see. Hell many of our favorite members keep their indentity secure.

David
