Funny how things seem to change. I remember you could walk with an empty guitar case if wanted to and chicks and rock fans would dig it.

Now chicks are repulsed .. as if you're a man-boy that can't grow up. And the "fans" naa .. not no more.

    Then

Its all about the bank account.
A rich musician is still a chic magnet.
So that being the case, I’m guessing your harem is bountiful. :)

    Today they're mostly:

    Obese
    Homely
Wear jeans tighter than 1980's spandex
    Low or no income
    Twice/thrice divorced
Two to three kids and who knows how many abortions
    Pelted with fading tattoos
    Vericose veins
    Cottage cheese legs
At least two chins (or no chin & thin red hair and a long neck)
You can't tell which side is the front or the back
    Can't effectively mount a toilet
    Bathe infrequently
    Believe themselves irresistibly sexy

... I'm sorry, I gotta quit here before I throw up.

Ha, what a shame there's so much truth to that!

To think that I've been working on my guitar hoping that once I'm there, the babes are going to start losing their clothes and throw themselves at me...!

My wife has been more realistic: She's always said maybe some old women might do that - if I can handle the sight. Ugh. Yeah, so why do I do it? It's an existential crisis!

and isn't that just the band members?

    Music tastes change, entertainment changes
Bands and audience for certain music are ageing, some for better a lot for worse.
If there were hot young boys in bands they might attract hot young girls.
Ageing rockers in their 50s and 60s will attract the same unless you are on TV with 8 figure bank accounts.
    ...oh the truth hurts:(

Yes, tastes change but musicians can still draw fans.

Changes in music has little to do with a natural progression of tastes but a heavy dose of social engineering is ongoing even from the 60's.

    It's called ideological subversion.

Today's music buyer was brainwashed to not like rock.

Music magazines used to put up full page ads of people going to see rock musician displays in a museum way back in the 80's.

Today's musician is a metro-sexual. Has little physical strength just enough energy to push a button.

Music has been replaced by video games and at the least a DJ.

They don't want anyone to know that people like this exist to give them hope and inspiration.

Suffice it to say the hair band genre was an exercise in sexual confusion. But the music was very muscular.

There are rock bands still but they are not mainstream and are hidden.

The groupie thing...:hmm: With the diseases that have been released into the populations like HIV a man-made affliction, Hepatitis C, promiscuity has around it a stigma that would prevent people from both sides, groupie/band member to think twice.

    Ok lets see:

Classical music crowd, average age 70-100, too old to go out or deaf to care.

Rock and roll crowd, average age 40-70, too busy to go out or tired to care.

Pop music crowd, average age 10-40, too young to go out or glued to their phones to care.

The music industry is in the $h!tter...

Pete Townsend said back in the 90's, when asked about the whole computer-generated music thing.."The music industry would love nothing more than to get rid of these annoying little creatures called musicians!" Or something to that effect.

The 60's, 70's, and 80's was the time of groupies and sexual freedom, but AIDS changed all that, and the music industry got their way..Bands of real musicians with real talent are being pushed aside in favor of electronica, sampling, looping, and so forth. Just a singer in a lot of cases, and eventually singers will probably also go away as well. why pay a band of four or five guys when you only have to pay one?

    Case in point? Justin Bieber!

There is still good music out there, but one has to do some digging to find it..It sure as hell ain't in the mainstream. Good music went away some time ago in favor of the flavor of the month targeted at pre-teens.

There's still groupies as well, but the whole rock star/groupie thing is a young person's game..Unless you're an sugar daddy old rocker with a huge bank account..And those guys are probably pretty wary nowadays, as there's also a lot of young gold-diggers with no conscience who are only out to grab themselves a big chunk of $$ at their expense.

Music got split into too many categories. So many that each one can only have maybe a few dozen fans. Therefore, mathematics dictates that no one genre contains enough mindless non-males to constitute a gaggle of groupies,. And since most genres now contain more musicians than fans, the groupie phenom as we knew it is as dead as common sense.

Well young whippersnapper, If you live long enough, one day you'll see. Your body might be shot. BP meds counter the ED meds. Like a Speedball for geriatrics. But in your brain. If you're lucky enough to have retained enough cells for cognitive thought. Unless looking in a mirror. Your brain tells you you're 25. I was talking with my Dad about this very thing, a couple years ago. I said " It seems to me I'm still 25 in my head, till I look in the mirror. And don't even recognize the person looking back at me." His reply was. " You think that's bad. Wait till you get to be my age." So he is 85 this year. And still thinks he's 25. Can't wait for you "Bandit" to catch up to the rest of us.

If your crowd looks like that then you need to revamp that setlist.

    Thx for ruin my day!

The band name «The Geria Trix» is now free for anyone to take. We’ll change to «The Via_gra Calls»...
