Since I really liked the way the 36ers worked out with the LP....thought I would break the V out of mothballs. Gonna replace the wrongly installed current pickups with slightly hotter pros. Should have them installed later this week.

I've used the PAF Pro in the neck in several guitars.
    Clean...really full and warm sounding.
Excellent single coil tones if you split it.
Great lead tones as full humbucker mode in the neck as well.

Matches very well with the Dimarzio Super Distortion or Super Distortion 3 in the bridge.

Never tried it in the bridge.
    So yes...report please.

I used a PAF pro bridge pickup for about 9 years. It was my first aftermarket pickup. I loved it and it stopped working. So I tried Seymour Duncans and I prefer them now as they are less compressed as Dimarzios and the SDs sound more organic and percussive.

I believe a huge difference in tone is in the baseplate material. Dimarzio insist on brass.

loL...I find it exactly opposite... Most SDs I have tried seem sterile...and not as organic as the DiMarzios I have tried.!

I bought a used RG550 with paf pros in it back in 2002 or so. Pretty well every guitar I've had since then I've had paf pros in it. Great screaming lead tones and rounded top end that doesn't get harsh, just warm and smooth. Probably the best pick-up period...or at least my favourite.
