I think ide change the piping from white now that the tolex is white, maybe gold or something different
If I got one of those it would end up looking like a piece of used toilet paper. My amps hold coffee cups, ashtrays, beers, pedals that move from the floor to the loop, and so forth. Seriously, it would end up filthy.
I have 4 heads that I want to change to white tolex. 2 origin’s 2 3210’s the the 3210’s will look like the 1982 Marshall version’s the origin’s will all be white with the gold piping like the SV 20’s
I see. The pinstripe does look badass, but I'd probably need a custom headbox for the knob configuration.
that would be the advantage of going to Sourmash, because he'll make it to whatever dimensions you tell him...
I think that looks good. I always thought the side pinstriping looked kick @ss. You could all-out buy a box just like that.
I sent him a message and never heard back from him. Did you see my other thread with the stock box I am just going to re-tolex? I figured why buy another one if I was going to do this. I thought you meant 800 style with no corners at first:
yeah, I took that shot at NAMM. I asked Marshall if I could get one, because it would fit my JVM head already. They said no. (this was in '14) I sent the picture to Bob at Sourmash & he told me no problem & same price as any other headbox...
That's a good deal getting that extra striping at no additional cost because it looks like a lot of extra work. I wonder if he drives a groove into the wood for it. Seem like he'd have to. Have you seen this one? It's drool-worthy and might be nice to model after too: Maybe a different cloth and logo to match your chassis ..
you can get white basketweave grillcloth. You can do white 800 style, w/ white grille & gold piping/stripe. You could paint the emblem gold, or black. If black, you could probably dye it... ideas: black emblem on white: gold emblem on white:
that's the point. If you're going to do it, do what you want. You have a lot of options. Why stick w/ something generic? Think & plan it through. You can get the pinstripes. You need to notch the cabinet. If you have a router you can make a jig & do it in no time...
