We would like to apologize for any inconvenience caused by the website being down on and off for the past couple of days. This is due to a DDoS attack on our server.

We are currently working on resolving this server problem.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

There needs to be a virus that traces the DDos and possibly other viruses back to point of origin (and/or) to anyone purposefully using said viruses for destructive purposes.

    Multiple changing points of origin.
That is what makes it difficult to detect & prevent.

Yup. People bitch a lot about websites not stopping DDoS attacks, but they're so prevalent because they're so difficult to stop and prevent.

Didn't realize that's what was happening here, though.

A security hole or setting must have been missed during the last upgrade (when we lost the likes button), the server needs a good Retina scan to see what's going on. I wonder what the MF server is, Windows, Linux, Unix?

Its such a petty thing to do. "I'm miserable so everyone else should be miserable too".
