Pointy guitars are not shit! They are esoteric.
I love them. I need another Ironbird... I have a very specific desire: one humbucker , gold hardware and metallic red. I need that.
Musician's Friend used to have a show room at their warehouse in Kansas City where you could buy the stuff that got returned. They always had several of these with one or more points busted off.
hey somebody liked them or they wouldnt have made them. i remember
when they were popular and most folks loved them.
i cant imagine myself w/o some pointy headstock in the rack myself.
i see your point and can kinda see what your saying.
I'd like to see Dave move to Gibson for a while, I think that'd be cool. But after playing on 25.5" scale length whammy guitars for so long and Gibson being known for mostly 24.75" scale lengths and non-whammys, it seems a bit of an odd relationship to me. Also, why jump ship just to make the same guitar with a different headstock (unless contractual disagreements arose)? Maybe Dave'll come up with a new design. Maybe that silver/gray pointy guitar in the video did that guitar on his spare time and got in "trouble" because of potential copyright infringement issues.
I think I'd go tits-up if Dave started sportin' Les Pauls though.
Speaking of Gibson partnerships, where's Splash these days?
The best vengeance would be mustaine playing a white explorer with no pickguard. That would be first class bullying.
An ‘84 Polaris, eh? I’ll see you one ‘84 Explorer and raise you one ‘73 LP reissue with a stripe called the “DM ‘Aunt Milly’ sig series.”
