Appreciate any help dating these speakers.
Bought a Marshall cab, model 1982. Made in the 1980s.

It has 4x12" Celestion speakers: G12H-100.
One of the date stamps is this:

8X 1735943

What does this mean in terms of production year?
Cheers

Location of the date stamp may be useful.
Photos would help.
I always get this wrong, so I'm not going to guess.

Edit: :welcome:to the forum.
Are you sure the "8X" is not "BX"?
Might be Feb 17, 1989?

the first 4 parts are the date code!

So as @fitz288 say’s above from 1989

I have 8 ohm quad of these, very modern sounding drivers!

Yeah BX17 would be 17th Feb 1989. 3594 is the model number of the speaker (T3594). 3 is an inspection number (ignore it).

Thank you, all three of you.
Why didn't I think of this: "8" is of course "B".

The stamps are somewhat sloppy and shapeless.

The speakers, and the cab sounds phenomenal.
I bought this cab (model 1982, made in the '80s) from a locally famous death metal band, and the band have been touring and so on since the '90s. So I guess the speakers are indeed "broken in". They sound great. Replaced the black grill cloth, installed a basket weave type instead.

Now while we're at it (although perhaps slightly off topic): my vintage mid '70s Vox AC30 (Dallas Musical Industries, Made in UK) has two silver alnico Celestion speakers installed.

There is a stamp saying:

FJ 17
T1088X

And so, if I get this right, using the table on bygonetone's website, it seems that these two silver alnico speakers where made in June 17th in 1976.

Thanks for the info, this is so cool. I can really recommend bygonetones site.
