that's not gonna happen pedecamp.
You really should enroll in a design course at the university.
there you'll learn that this code amp is making a statement to the world that it's different but still marshall brand.

what you want is to control and styfel marshall into a box from which they can't grow and become the new marshall they're threatening to be now that jims gone.

I want a head but I have no need for 100 watts so I was considering the 50 and if I really like it turn it into a head. I do wish they came up with a more classic looking panel layout to go with its classic looks.
I'll just make a cab to throw it in...

or it make it rackmountable...

no look! comeon! go back to basix.
the wattage is nothing to do with tone, it's just telling you the size of the sound.
so if you want to play super quietly most of the time, the 25 is the way to go. it will scale down the sound to really low levels and still offer some volume power as well.

Yeah, but the 12" should be more capable and push more out. Like the step up from an 8" MG15 to 10" MG30. The extra speaker size really helps get some depth to the tone.

Having said that, I am really impressed with the Marshall Woburn my wife got me for my birthday. 2 x 5.25" speakers sounds amazing on that thing.

I went for the 50 because if I do like it enough to get the head version later, I'll be familiar with the controls layout. I know the 25 has all the same features but I don't dig it's display

so if it's gonna sit at home 25 watts is plenty. maybe the 50 watter.
if it's going to shows with you then it's 50 watts you should be looking into.

even w/ the 25w you can always go Phones out to an ext. power amp & cabs.:naughty:

I'm looking forward to using one in conjunction w/ the JMP-1.

Looking for something I don't remember what.
I ordered a 25, simply because I want it as small and light as possible. I just want the models to add to the ones already in the JMD1. I may even look at removing the unit from the combo cab and when the footswitch comes out build an on floor unit with the footswitch on top and the amp inside....I reckon it's only a matter of time before Marshall catches on to produce a pedal version. I can add a speaker socket from the unit after the power amp and maybe change the headphone jack to 1/4" to make it more robust.
Take a look at the Atomic Amplifire (www.atomicamps.com) this is the kind of thing I was hoping for, with Softube models of classic Marshall amps. The price is what makes the CODE attractive. I find the fact it comes in a traditional amp / combo format less so.

Check out the video of Chappers playing the Amplifire through the loop return of his Victory V30 head and 2 X 12 cab....

I have a 50 on order.

I am glad it's in a combo amp format.

I have an atomic amplifire, it's great.

IRs are great, especially for recording....but nothing, beats the sound of.a 12" guitar speaker in a cabinet, IMHO.

I will use usb to record direct. But I will enjoy the amp for practice at lowish volumes in my bedroom sized home studio.

I even plan to find a way to run the amplifire into the code with the preamps power amp cabs turned off, just for variety.

I wonder why the 2x12 combo is not going to be stereo? has chorus and flanger effects which sound better in true stereo.
This is the one i would have wanted.
The blackstar ID 260 is stereo and that is probably the only thing it has over the newer CODE coming out

I did a quick search on the CODE50 & ran across this:

Looking at these as mainly a direct into-the-box recording 'sim', I'm pretty well sold on the '25'. Got all I need. Only reason I haven't pre-ordered yet is I keep eyeballing the '50' with the larger (slightly) display & 12".

&%^# it...off to place an order w/Sweetwater for a '25'.

What? I thought they were going to be available starting in March, no? If that's the case, then I might as well wait until the end of year when all options are available. Though, by then I'll likely have a Kemper and very little interest in a CODE anymore. There was some discussion on this in the other thread, but really, in today's market, you need to have your product ready to go upon launch when people are ready to move … in 6 months from now it's like … 'oh yeah, the CODE … should check one of those out someday'. Oh well.

Still interested and will wait, and keep my pre-order to keep my place in line......but was hoping for March.

Oh well.

I hope they get some units out early, in order to get them in the hands of some high quality reviewers........
