Next year 30 years old go fore the next 30 years
I fought that battle last year trying to get a Gibson Studio LP. 40 watched listings and not one sole would give me a deal. I lost of course. I still want an SV20 but not paying $1000. I don't like making payments. Been burned too much in the past. Hopefully my luck turns around soon. I'm about rock bottom now! I would like to say the SV20 would be the last amp too. For guitars a few others are on my bucket list.
For that price it had better come with an attractive young lady to set it up for me and ... more. I can pick up a second hand (fully operational) JCM800 100W for 1300, roughly. Euros that is, but still.
Wouldn't that be Marshall's biggest mistake, to develop amps that will make people stop wanting more amps?
Hmm, I thought it was the strive for nirvana that we're after, not nirvana itself. I'm a little scared of being so close to the amp gods.
Scare those gods away by putting a Wangs on top of your Marshall head(s) or uttering the statement that "valves are dead, solid state is the way to go".
You should. They command a hefty salary to be amp gods. They are not gods of charity by any means.
I'm an unlicensed reckless driver on all my amps.
(But I do drive them sober)
Lololololololololol Lololololololololol Lololololololololol, I think that's about it, no wait, Lololololololololol!
I had an incident once that should have cost me my amp license. No, nothing got damaged, but it was late at night and I was fairly blattered. Decided to have a bash at something or other, flicked the amp, mixer, etc, etc so that I could use headphones. Took me a couple of minutes of wondering why I could feel the bass while wearing headphones before I realized I had in fact taken the amp off standby with cab in full effect. Oops, as they say.
I prefer to drive them impaired,…
Maybe, but as mentioned they had one very recently as well.
I was just posting a Public Service Announcement for those who may be looking for something. Around here, guitar shops are like ghost towns and inventory is worse than a bad pawn shop. Used inventory is bleak.
I picked up something for myself (online) I had been on the fence about.
I had one for a bit, it was pretty good, my DSL1 head replaced it though and i found i wasn't using it much so i swapped it away, kinda miss it actually. I'd snag one up for 75 in a hot second!
Probably going to stick with Friedman tbh which is kind of fucked up really coz as I’ve mentioned before I only live 20mins from the Marshall factory , well more to importantly the maintenance/ service workshop .
I have a six knob license. Six knobs, all on 6. Master control knobs don’t count.
Do you compensate for amps that go to 11, or does the rule stand unaltered?
17 knobs with reckless abandon.
I was told there’d be no math…
I like the yellow cord. And the checkered grill cloth, of course.
