Welcome to the forum The DSL line of amps can do quite a bit, modern type metal, and can get very close to , old school/ classic rock, it should pair up with your Origin cab quite well, I have purchased the Dsl40c’s, and Origin 50H’s I am still loving the tones that are coming out of both rigs, I think that you are going to love the amp.. Cheers Mitch
Check the post above about modding for the 8 ohm tap, that in itself will set you up for many possibilities, I am also budget minded, and all of my cabs are used MG cabs 8ohms but I have changed out a few speakers in them and I have to say I get pretty decent tones. And the Dsl line does metal very well. Cheers
2 8 ohm cabs and a y cable will get you 16 ohms too. Iirc I think the 8 ohm mod to the amp renders the headphone/ emulated out useless...not positive but I recall something to that effect.
Sounds interresting! I've heard about the way I can change the DSL1HR into 8Ω though I want something more "Ready out of the box" as I've said before!! XD
Thank you for your reply. It is truly helpful because I can't find a metal review anywhere. Also will it be too too loud? I know I can make the DSL1HR output 0.1W. Also the 2x12 cabs are like 10 euros cheaper than the 4x12 XD
I have no experience with the 1 watt amps , but every one seems to have different perspectives of loud, I do know that I can play my Dsl40c’s quite low on the volume, and still get good tones. Cheers
That's probably a kickass little head, 1w for bedroom playing is probably perfect, i have a 15w head and its stupid loud in the house, i get the stink eye every time i turn it on. I also recommend a 2x12" cab.
yeah it looks like you'd spend a little more but it will be worth it in the long run I say. Or get a DSL40CR, even better than the 1 or 20 watt feature wise.

I have read the DSL1 has a 8ohm wire inside that was not connected, I have heard of people drilling a hole for it and adding a 8ohm jack.
Not sure, exactly. That may have been answered by now. I haven't checked the thread. Someone should know for sure.
I have a DSL5CR and in 1 watt mode it can get a little loud, but not what I would consider too loud, but I roll it back after 10PM out of respect for the family and upstairs neighbors. Can still dial in good tones at late night volume.
Yeah. I'll probably buy a bugera amp cause I am on a really tight budget and though if the 4x12 will be ok for home use I dont have a problem using the DLS1, My neighbors (upstairs) otherwise my room is far away from any other people except my family
Yeah it definetely is amazing. I cant find any 2x12 that are 16Ω for a fair price. Its either a 1x12 or a 4x12 and tbh I think that for 40 euros more the 4x12 is vfm XD
[QUOTE="ibmorjamn, post: 2060838, member: 37157 [/QUOTE] I was looking at that Harley Benton g212 though its a 8Ω. Its my choice if end up buying a bugera g5 infinium.
If Ola Englund triggered you, you are probably into the more extreme ends of metal. The smaller amps usually also save on controls, so you have less options so shape the sound. You could consider a second hand Bugera 6260 or 6262 or a Jet City JCA20 / 50 / 100 as well, if you want to go full size but cheap. The cheap Bugera 4x12 is not that good; you would need an EQ in the loop to make it sound ok for metal.
4x12s is good too. I dont have a 4x12 anymore, just 1x12s and a 2x12 and soon to be a 4x10", while the 1x12"s do have their uses, the 2x12 kicks their asses.
