I know a guitarist that worked with BR.

He said BR was incredible & difficult to work with.

I know he's not rock'n'roll but Buddy isn't in the rock'n'roll hall of fame.

Buddy Rich made me want to be a drummer when I was a kid.

Once I realized how much a drum set cost I bought a guitar instead.

A looong time ago a guitar player buddy and I heard that Buddy was playing at a local hotel so we went. It was the wrong hotel and he was on the other side of town. So WE WENT!!!
It was great. He kicked ass and he slayed us 16 year old wanna be musicians. Great memories.

LOL My Dad was a HUGE Jazz fan. One day I was bragging how great a drummer Carl Palmer was so my Pops said let me hear him, I put on one of Palmers epic drum solo's, LOL my Dad laughed at me and said he stole the solo from Buddy Rich, he then put on one of Rich's solos and sure enough it was similar!

Dad used to play me Rich solos and some Gene Krupa solos also.

Buddy was incredible and a showman.

In my opinion, a drummer should be entertaining

    IMO, talent is a gift.

IMO, being a prick is a choice.
