I am about to restore three cabs from ‘66-67, one slant and two tall bottom ones. These would originally have had metal/brass(?) plated furniture glides on the bottom and on one side for the bottom ones. I am trying to find the closest thing to the originals. Does anyone have a good closeup photo of an original? What size is it? On the 2006 Marshall «Hendrix» stack they used some brass plated ones that are 18 mm in diameter. I found these, will they do the job or do I ned some that are solid and not hollow? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/23333179...5-0%2F1%3Fff3%3D2%26pub%3D5575376664%26toolid There’s also these: https://www.heico-direct.co.uk/shop...ls/18mm-brass-plated-39h1839-upholstery-nail/
The originals are very similar to those, but I think chrome rather than brass. Not sure about the exact size though:
Thanks for the replies! I PMed you, Ned. Yes, they may have been chrome on the originals, haven’t been able to study any up close. BTW, did they use these on combo cabs as well?
you'll probably have a difficult time finding them, new. If someone has them on here, you're lucky... You can look up "upholstery nails" & find similar products... Upholstery Nails this one has 3 sizes: http://www.decotacks.com/upholstery-tacks.html
