I picked this one off Ebay cheap as who ever did there handy work on this unit was not very nice to it imo , probably why it was cheap etc etc ...

A total gut job , sandblasted the enclosure with a new paint , full and complete internal mod
Turned out nice i think imo ...

Ive modified many of these over the years , but this is the first time that i used 3 OPA Burr Brown Op amps in a GE7 .
Changed out all the crappy Boss caps also . It turned out nice .
    Super quiet !!!
    I'll be keeping this one.

Who the f*** does something like that to a pedal? Not you, @HOT TUBES 70 (nice work!), but the owner before you. WTAF. I've heard people bitch about the 'rainbow of pedals' and wanting everything in shades of black/grey, etc - but this dude must have been colourblind or tripping on something.

That was Jimi Hendrix's long lost GE7 he used at Woodstock and was worth thousands of dollars. :ohno:

Don't be silly, Jimi always used Amplitube. The Marshall stacks and pedals were just for looks. :coffee:

The trick is to not push the Level slider past the midway point, or at least not by much. I had a friend who used to put his in the front of a JCM 800 2210, with the level maxed out. It sounded great, but hissed like crazy when he wasn't playing. I run mine with the Level right in the middle, and I get the EQ enhancements with no hiss at all.

Burr Brown OPA 2134 PA .
IMO these are one of the best op amps to run in this type of pedal .
I may continue to use them as its DEAD QUIET now !

Looks great Mike! I should get you to mod mine so it is quieter. That is sharp. And yes, I will sometime get my OD for you to look at. Just surprisingly busy.

    Mine isn’t. Noisy, I mean.

Well, seems pretty quiet to me.
