Wondering if anyone has or tried this with their PLEXI style amps?
I'm considering getting one for my Superlead.

The built in version in the original Belle Epoch Delay pedal is the most accurate sounding version I have tried. I'm assuming this one will be as good/better and add a bit more adjustability (you can only control the amount of gain/boost in the original BE).

So basically you put an EP-3 into your chain and a treble booster to get the tones of 70s Plexi hard rock. You get somewhat there. However, there are transparent Klons and of course the mighty SD-1 and other actual boost pedals that took over operations from the EP-3 which is why it sort of fell into disuse. I would get a treble booster and a Klon Klone for a Plexi before I would get an EP-3. Does that make sense?

If I was going tape pedal delay and forking out this big money for these top shelf pedals I would go for the full belle deluxe. Download the Echoplex Owner service manual and it is a lot of fun to see how Catelinbread has done a really top-notch mockup plus you get extra delay styles in there from EHX, a leslie and another dark studio delay (BBD) on setting 2. However maybe that's too much in which case that pedal would do if its just that coloring of your tone you want.

It's a good one. Part of EVH's secret sauce was using the preamp in his EchoPlex which other players had already been doing too. Of course there was more to his soud than just that.

BTW, if you like the SD-1 you'd probably like a Nobels ODR-1.
