SOLD ON 3/26/19 Thanks everyone for your comments and your interest. -------------------------------------------------------------------- 2015 Standard model Includes original Martin hardshell case All solid woods, ebony fingerboard Butter bean open gear tuners Condition: 9/10 I forget, but they incorporated features from a higher line model into these Standards in 2014 or 2015 and so this is that guitar. You'd have to look that up, it's been a while since I was into the specs. It sounds everything like what you would expect from a Martin D-18. It's never been in an environment outside the parameters of 65-80 degrees F and 40%-55% relative humidity. It's got less than 4 solid hours of play time on it, so zero fret wear, and during its lifetime since I bought it new it's probably been out of its case for a total of 24 hours. The action and setup are perfectly set to factory specs. When I bought it I immediately removed the 12 gauge strings, re-strung it with the same Martin brand of 11's, tuned it one step flat, adjusted the truss slightly to compensate, and it's been that way since. The neck has never moved and the action is perfect with not a single buzz anywhere. The rear binding has separated at the waist line about the thickness of a business card in a spot less than 1" long, so you'll want to have that fixed. Easy repair, but I'm not concerned enough to have it done, I don't play it. For whatever reason, it occurred while stored in its case. There is a minor scuff on one lower side from a one-time lean against a wooden chair, not a big deal unless you're very picky. If not for those two things the guitar is like new. Frankly, I love this guitar, I just don't play it. I bought it new in 2015 for $1,950, case included. It has all the original tags, booklet and paperwork. These are going for $2,450 retail right now, the price for mine is non-negotiable at $1,900 plus shipping* to anywhere in the US only. (*Whatever the shipping cost would be from New York State.) If you really want a Martin D-18 Standard with the upgraded features they added in 2014/2015 and you don't want to pay the new retail price of $2,450 plus tax and shipping, this will be a great guitar for you to own. The photos above are from within the first 2 months after I bought it. If you would like current photos, or photos of the binding separation and scuff I mentioned, please only ask if you're really considering buying this guitar because I hate taking and uploading photos.
