Anyone here like/enjoy Green Day?
You talking about Dookie or Boulevard of broken whining forward era?
I'm talking about the band in general.
I used to be a fan, now not so much. That 3 album trilogy was a goddamn waste of time to trod through.
From a songwriter's pov, I enjoyed it. Guitar tones were trash though. I think Billie and Jason had the whole "Foxboro Hot Tubs" Guitar playing in mind. But the tour After IHeart was a load of amazing Performances.
Cool, I'll have to check them out again.
I love the old albums (1039 & Kerplunk)
I dig them.
Not super-huge on them, but I dig some songs from Insomniac.
Insomniac is probably the album I listen to least.
I'm not a "huge" fan, but I am a fan. I like the energy, the attitude and the songs. I have to admit though, I've always hated that acoustic song they did way back. It was just like More Than Words by Extreme: awesome song, but once radio shoved it down my throat for 36 weeks I got to throwing up. And after the first 20 weeks it started hitting the department store overheads. It was so 'record company', and so 'predictable', so over-exposed, and ultimately destroyed.
But hey, that's business I guess.
You mean good riddance? That's actually about one of billie's ex's. If my memory serves correctly, it's the same girl that Amanda off of Trè is based on.
Always liked green day. Still listen occasionally. I liked Uno, but the other two were crap. BJ annoys me when he talks tho.
No, the acoustic song. Oh what was it... Time Of Your Life or something? I hated upon it vehemently with a vehement vehemence. Ya know? But mostly because it was a good song for the first week, then radio killed it for weeks and weeks. In the end it was just another cheeseball acoustic song for me, the record companies were making everyone do those. Man, there were TONS of acoustic ballads and that was when I decided to dump Pop music for a good 10 or 12 years.
The song is titled: Good Riddance(Time of Your Life)... LOL
I'm a fan and enjoy their music, I don't really follow any bands at this stage of my game so I don't really know what they've done lately other than whats on the radio.
What ever happended to that Nirvana band, I've been waiting for a new album for a while.
I think the singer went to like rehab for heroin or something?
Yeah - that one!!
I dug em', especially around 94' when I first heard of them (Dookie). In 95' when they came out with Insomniac, I was in a band with my college roommate - we had a blast playing a handful of their songs, since they were pretty easy to learn and a lot of fun to play.
the easy songs is why I love em!
All jokes aside, My favorite marshall tone in the world.
