Blackmore and Iommi are the first 2 to make me want to play guitar, Page came after.

After playing both Ritchie's and Yngwie's sig's, I definitely prefer Ritchie's less scalloped fretboard. Some of Ritchie's sig's have that hybrid scallop that starts directly after the fret and tapers off behind the next fret.
FWIW I preferred the YJM Rosewood over the maple, as it is scalloped less (deep).
Although the Crimson with Rosewood looks great, you cannot beat the classic look of an Olympic White! (Blonde for the win!)
Both artist sig's are top Fender offerings IMHO. :yesway:

If it was around Long Island you possibly did. He will always have a guitar or his mandola with him

I first saw white marshalls at the Erie Canal Soda Pop Festival on Bull Island between indiana and Illinois back in September 2,3, 4th 1972 Foghats first debut performance as Foghat and they had six white marshalls on stage three on each side and they looked like giant robots up there.

I’m also a big Blackmore fan. Love Deep Purple, but even bigger fan of Rainbow since I first heard Blackmore with that band.

Blackmore makes all the current metal shredders look lame. He has style and touch, and understands how to make a phrase. Malmsteen solos all sound the same, like the new crop of Cookie Monster metal people. His songwriting is up and down, sometimes schmaltzy castle and Dragon stuff, but I always like to hear him play. He's very musical, not just technique. He can surprise you, even after hearing him a thousand times.

Definitely influenced by Ritchie's staccato cadence and brilliant sense of blues phrasing. Below are studio versions of my favorites. You could spend a lifetime absorbing the greatness of his playing, just from these three tunes:

Blackmore was also (brilliantly) shreddy on occasion:

And if you don't see the obvious thread going from RB to YJM, or feel the latter is all about speed and nothing else, well...

I stand by my opinion that YJM has one of the best vibratos in the business, incredible tone and a unique phrasing (again, very Blackmore-influenced in the way he doesn't necessarily lands on the "expected" beat). And definitely the most obvious "spiritual son" to Rainbow-era Blackmore. But hey, I don't see music as a competition or an either/or proposition...
