I'd love to add a fawn 2203 to my collection. And a red one. Every custom color, actually.

That particular demo amp didn't make it for me. Its distortion sounds too much like static and not enough like tubes in a happily overdriven state to me. I'd say I didn't much like what I heard.

Nice! Thanks @Kelia, for posting that video.

I’m a thumbs down on the fawn color, but I enjoyed the video very much. I love Gibsons and Marshalls and together that tone can’t be matched imo.

I will say this though, the color scheme with the gold trimmed off-white Explorer and the Fawn colored Marshall are a phenomenal match! :fever: :noplease:

We still don’t know the identification of the receipient as of yet. If this kick occurred near those needles all bets are off

I love the combination of that Explorer combined with the Fawn Marshall... Beautiful!

I dig the Fawn to be honest, looks classy and I'd rock it no problem. I'm usually a stickler for black tolex also but I can get down with the Fawn.

That Marshall did sound... Different... I really dig that guy's playing, really cool and dynamic. The tone seemed overly distorted at times, almost like a really cheap fuzz pedal but.. idk I kinda dug it's quirky sound.

I love Emerald City Guitars but they are obviously geared towards the wealthy collectors. Average Joe guitarist will faint seeing the prices in there... But they always have amazing gear and amazing vintage gear. I haven't been there in a long time because Seattle is has gone down the drain, the area the store is located is a pretty sketchy part of the city. We used to gig in that area all the time and it was bad then but much worse now since I last visited. The needles everywhere says it all...

Ironic that Seattle is famous for the Space Needle and the city is full of needles....

    Nope

Don't do Jimi or Eddie either.

Too many covering that stuff already.

    Make yourself unique.

All the clubs where I come from. Everybody plays the same shit.

I like to give people a different flavor of shit.

    I give 'em ( Sweet Shit )

About the Fawn. You like what you become accustom too

I have no problem with the tolex, but that was a terrible demo from a tone perspective, ugh! It sounded like the guy was afraid to crank the amp up, like the master volume was on .5 and the preamp volume was turned way up. If the master was up, then that amp sucks. :) But who knows, he did say it was modded. But I'd be embarrassed to put that video up on the web. NOT what a 2203 is supposed to sound like, IMO.

So one video of a run of the mill circuit JMP of the mid 70s made you like a tolex color? There is a great example psycho-acoustics right there :D

sounds like he has some ratty sounding alnicos in the cab...

that's how one of my 1912 cab's sounded, when I bought it. It had a Jensen P12Q in it. I took that ratty fuzz paper out, almost instantly.
