http://www.kijiji.ca/v-amp-pedal/mo...er/1125063370?enableSearchNavigationFlag=true I'm probably going to pick it up anyways, but what can you guys tell me about these? I see CP JJ's, Sovtek, tungsol, but I've never bought mullards before so I don't know about these. Any idea if they are cp or nos? For $40 I am not expecting much, but the guy is selling all his electric guitar stuff and keeping on the acoustic, so you never know... There's also some 112axlps which I've never heard of... I think it was supposed to be 12ax7-lps. First I've heard of it so I'm googlin...
I see many CP tubes there most of what I have tried such as the Mullards, JJ's, Sovtek & Tung-Sols. Looks like there are some "NOS" tubes there but I can't tell what they are? Anyway, for that price, it might be worth a try if you get a few tubes that are actually good tubes. The risk you take is are they really 50% good and maybe some are about to die, who knows?? I'm sure he has not tested them...its a gamble and a fair price if you ask me.
Cool.. yeah figured for $40 I can't really lose. The 84's will work in my class 5's and the assorted preamp tubes will be fun to roll. How do you guys find the CP mullards? ...and what are they actually? lol
it's supposed to be: 1- 12AX7-LPS, which is a Sovtek tube, probably the most top right tube in the image... http://www.thetubestore.com/Tubes/12AX7-ECC83-Tube-Types/Sovtek-12AX7-LPS
I can tell you what they're not... Real Mullards... http://www.marshallforum.com/showthread.php?t=31194 The Mullard company was a British tube Mfgr. The name has been acquired by an American Corp. New Sensor, that operates it's factories in Russia. http://www.svetlana.com/ funny that New Sensor, uses Svetlana's website as their corporate HQ page... This appears to be done by our member who posted the comparison: http://www.effectrode.com/rubble-ruins/ (there's a few other articles on Mullard there)
Woohoo, ok so there were a bunch of JAN 12ax7's, and other various offerings by them, and most of the power tubes just have russian-looking lettering on them so they are certainly something I've never seen before. They say 6n14n and then some other numbers which are different for each tube. Not sure what that is, haha.
