is there anyone on here addicted to buying 4x12 cabinets? i already have way too many ,4 ,for 2 heads to make 2 full stacks ,and just because i have seen a kustom 4x12 at the swami for 80 bucks ,and i have reason to believe it is loaded with 4 celestion g65 's ,i'm actually thinking of making it 5 cabs ,i barely have any room for it .but it has wheels ,unlike the drive cab i found 4 wheels at the swamp for 5 bucks for the 4 .
WHY does a bedroom commando like me have five 4x12s, a 2203, a JTM45, and three 1959s? Plus a Mesa Dual Rectumfryer and more? It's a disease. One I enjoy.
Been a couple or 3 years since I did a GIG with a 4 x12(of which I own 6) or 8x10 Still , Im thinkin about nabbin' a bass cab this week
I got two, but everytime i see one for small money i start drooling and dreaming of what speakers it´s hiding, and people RARELY know. so i guess it´s speakers and the cab is just well how they come delivered, HA!
I live in a one bedroom apartment... And at one time I had like 7 half stacks, multiple combo amps, 2x12's and a couple 1x12's. it can be a problem.
Me Five 412's, two 212s, one 112. And the damn band ain't even playing out b/c of covid. It's really about the speakers first, cab second.
I'm guilty. I haven't played in a band since the early 2000's, so I really have no professional reason to have as much as I do. I just like to have different choices so I surround my self with stuff. Right now I have 7 4x12's. 2 2x12's, 3 1x12's, and 5 lead 12 1x10's. The 4x12s 2x12s and 1x12 have different variations of vintage 30s, G12T75s, G1280s so the madness does have a function.
Addicted to speakers, cabs, amps. Guilty. It takes up sooo much space I really needed some else to hoard, at least to slow down the process of buying more cabs. Preamp tubes
It's a curious addiction, bit like collecting sets of cards or whatever. I have thinned down a lot but still have a full 68 bw stack, two Orange 4x12s, 68 Bass cab and 4 off 2x12s. All for different reasons (G12H 55Hz, G12M 55hz, G12M 75Hz, G12H 75Hz x2, Goodmans 50s, Celestion Blue Alnicos, V30s, T75s) so all bases nearly covered, not to mention the combos. I have reasonable space and would love a Hiwatt with SE4122 and my old pinstripes back but realistically not necessary and unlikely to happen.
I have seven 4x12 Marshalls, and 2 cabs of other brands. Also rocking three Marshall 1936 2x12 cabs, and 6 bass cabs of different brand and configurations. I never set out to have that many Marshall cabs, but over the years people would put them up for sale and I would just throw out a low-ball offer and tell them if they didn't get their higher price I have cash in hand and would pick it up same day, no hassle. Most of the time a week or so would go by and they would call.
I don't even know how to play yet and I have two full 1960 stacks and a Blackheart half-stack, 2x JVM410H, AVT150, Blackheart HotHead something with FN Loud setting (that is all I know about it, it has a FNL setting so I had to have it).
The most I had at the same time was 9 Marshall cabs. Now I have downsized to 4 Marshalls and 1 Bogner.
