I've heard that they can be noisy. Still though, some people dug them...

I mean, people on here complain that the JVM is noisy. People used to complain about the JMP-1 as well.

My problem w/ ADA, is that I had a multi-unit & it flat out died on me pretty quick. I got it from a friend, used, before he moved out of state. It worked perfect for about a month & then dead...

So, I never trusted them again.

But, my guess, is that if it's still kickin' after all these years, then it's probably not a lemon.

I have the ADA MP-2 still. Collecting dust for years. I actually fired it up a few months back to try out with an EVH 5150iii and meh... sounds like shit lol.

I still have an MP-1. No issues, I retubed a few years ago, added a battery clip for easy changes. Original was soldered. No other mods, sounds great. Does get a little noisy with high gain but nothing unusual for gain. Chorus is nice. I guess if you are looking into rack gear and find a deal its not a bad choice.

I have 2 ADA MP-1s here now. One I have had since the 80's, and the only issue I ever had with it was I had to replace the input jack.

It's got the 80s thing nailed. Ratt, Lynch, White lion, ect. But can do lots more. Very good chorus, nice cleans. Many tonal options. I won't sell mine. :D

i have both the one and the two. I love them. They are a familiar sound from my high school days. Never had a problem with either of them besides tube changes. I prefer the 2 over the one because its quieter and programs easier.

If your in that market also check out the classic Digitech 2101. Fantastic tube preamp that can be had for cheap. I love mine as much as the ADA's
