Im leaving for Europe, and Sweden dec 26th for the new year, and just had some quick questions about how to leave my gear.

If i were still going to be here i wouldnt do anything specifically, so why now?

The gear doesnt know in not here?...heheh

Well, it is getting used on a daily basis for hours.

Im thinking about putting all guitars back in cases and do the DIY humidity thing.

Anything specific with the amps you would suggest?

    Pull the power completely perhaps?

You can store all your gear at my house for free. It's a fully controlled environment with full security and completely insured. Nothing that comes in ever gets back out again.
    Ever.

Whenever we go away for a week or more, I put all my guitars in their cases, pull all the power plugs to the amps and put a blanket over everything so they don't get cold... My house is climate controlled so I don't worry about that.

Whenever I go away for a week or so I call up all my friends and let them know when I'll be away, and I ask them to keep an eye on my gear for me and to make sure no one steals it. I inform them that the spare key is under the welcome mat, and give them a printout of the value of each item so they know which ones are most important to me. I know they would never take anything, although I have noticed a few things missing and am wondering whether a thief has been breaking in and stealing some items off the basement shelves (the basement's located down the garage stairs, and all the gear is stored over to the left in an unlocked cage where each item is meticulously labeled with masking tape and a black Sharpie.

The pulling cables thing is a good idea. So is covering, I suppose. I rarely cover my head, even though I don't use it a lot. I don't put my guitars in cases unless I'm taking them somewhere. They usually just hang on the wall or a stand.

Because somehow, your door will get left cracked, the dog will get in & gnaw your goldtop into a bunch of toothpicks... &... he'll pee on your 1960B cab right through the bottom 2 GB25s...

Well, as long as you kind of pack everything up so it's protected, you should be ok. I wouldn't worry too much about humidifiers, unless your roomies crank the furnace all the time & you think it'll cook them...
