2204 Build with Marstran OT

I take it all back, I plugged it into the regular wall current and not into the lightbulb limiter and the bias and everything works perfectly. Now I need to try it with the preamp tubes in.

Works. Plate to cathode voltage is 475. 60% bias is 32mV. Looks solid sounds fine.

I plugged the new 2204 head into my 1936v cab. The Marstran OT had a lot of overtones and a smooth sustain that dissolved into a harmonically pleasing feedback at living room levels. And that was with a set of those cheap JJ tubes. I do recommend it to anybody looking for a quality 50 watt OT.

Looks fine despite the extra holes in the Plexi front panel. I borrowed a case from my earlier Valvestorm 2204 build. Waiting for a black one from Sourmash.

The cabinet arrived today, looks great, so I put the chassis in for a test fitting before drilling the holes. I left the 4-hole front panel on the chassis, just makes it look like a modified plexi. I’ll finish mounting the chassis tomorrow.

Yes. Bolted it all together on Saturday. Looks and sounds great.
