Have an opportunity to buy this amp. Stationed in Okinawa, they are asking about 950.00 American for the amp. Is it worth the price. Just don’t know current value. Thank you for the help. If you search the exact wording in the title you can see the amp that was sold by another seller.

Yes, Buy Now. If you don't how can I get it? $950 is a crazy amazing price.

Looks like I might head out tomorrow to pick it up. I just don’t know enough about Marshall amps to know if it’s worth the money. I use a JCM 900 1x12 all original so I have been out of the amp game for a while. Thanks for the reply.

There are 4 legendary Grail tones from Marshall.

    JTM/Bluesbreaker
    Superlead/SLP
    MV JMP/JCM 800
    JCM 25/50 “Jubilee”

That amp you’re looking at is one of the two most important/legendary tones out there. It ts loud as fuck. That used to be a terrible impracticality for some.

Given the price you are paying, you’ll have money left over for a quality attenuator/loadbox compared to what it would sell for stateside.

Excellent deal as a head for sale. Outright larceny if it comes with a cab as well.

They go for $1400 to $1600 in the States.
Try it before you buy it.

    Fixed it for ya ;)

Absent serious issues (like replacement trannies) it is a deal, even if modified. It’s going to be @ $200 on the bench to drop in a fresh set of tubes and give it a good going over (maybe $300 if you want to do filter caps). What’s another hour on the bench to reverse any mods?

There is always potential for the rub, but if it sounds right, looks original and not buggered to death, it’s a no-brainer.

Cool amp go for it (and convert to 2203 if you don't need two channels)

All other things being equal, he can probably straight-trade it for a 2203/4 without buggering the SLP or going out of pocket.

Man grab it asap if it is fully functional! If you're unhappy with it you can easily flip it quickly.

    I'd love one of dems

Going to wait until I get back to America to have it checked out. I want a reliable tech to look at it. Pics coming.

Maybe you should have grabbed the 50. At those prices, I would have. Congratulations!

When did they stop making the 1959. I know they did a reissue in 1988 with only 100 amps made, I have one. Then they made them again in 1993. I thought they stopped in the late 70s to make room for the JCM 800

I think the non hand wired version was removed from the catalogue a year or two ago, it was unceremonious. I guess people just weren’t buying them in quantities large enough to justify mass production.

...yet the Jcm 900 4100 reissue is still in active production.
